This weekend, the will hold its annual Autumn Gala event. The Welsh Steam Gala will run from today (September 30th 2016) to the Sunday 2nd of October.

10 steam locomotives are expected to be in steam. First of all, is the home fleet including 45428 Eric Treacy (acting as 45344) and 44806 (acting as 44776), both locomotives masquerading as engines from Croes Newydd shed. Also running is 76079 (acting as 76038 of Machynlleth) and 61264. Loco 80136 will is joining the fleet after recently returning back to traffic in August. 80136 spent time in Wales running at Machynlleth. Finally, 6046 which has been in service during the summer, will also be running.

Visitors to the NYMR include 2807, it will be joined by 76084, visiting from North Norfolk Railway, the loco has just returned to the Mainline in August. Also visiting from the Llangollen Railway, in Wales, will be 7822 ‘Foxcote Manor'.

Finally, the last attraction will be Hunslet ‘Britomart' visiting from the Ffestiniog, which will be steaming into the tunnel at Grosmont.
