At the weekend we made a visit to Thompson Park in Burnley. This is the home of the Burnley and Pendle Miniature Railway Society and the Thompson Park Railway.
The railway is a 7 1/4 inch gauge line, which is about half a mile in length, and a journey takes around 10 minutes. Tickets cost just £1.
Usually operating at weekend between Easter and September from 12:00 to 16:00, the railway is also open on some bank holidays and on Wednesdays during the summer holidays. Please visit their website to check dates and details of special events.
