As another weekend approaches, you maybe sat wondering what to do this weekend. With plenty of railways running this weekend, and some having special events, there is a lot to keep you entertained, here is a few ideas…..

Garratt 87 on the Welsh Highland RailwayThe Welsh Highland Railway is having their annual ‘Rail Ale Festival' this weekend. This brings together the fun of a train ride with the great taste of Ale.
The railway is also having an intense timetable in operation for the weekend. You can get the timetable by clicking here



Train Prices for this event:

  • ‘Weekend Rover' – £20.00 – Valid on all trains throughout the weekend between Caernarfon and Waunfawr ONLY
  • ‘Day Rover' (Valid either between Caernarfon and Dinas OR Dinas and Waunfawr) – £5.00 per day – Valid on all trains between specified stations for ONE day

  • Friday & Saturday: 11:00 – 24:00
    Sunday: 11:00 – 16:00

The Ruilsip Lido Railway is holding their annual ‘Teddy Bears Picnic' this weekend, this runs on both Saturday and Sunday between 12 and 5pm.
Attractions include ‘Alan' The Bear testing the new tree swing, ‘Beatrice' The Bear trying to get her cubs into the car, and ‘Stanley' the bear trying to drive a train!
There will be also a chance to purchase a Teddy Bears Picnic Quiz, this gives you the chance to win a Family Ticket for 4!
No Pre-Booking is necessary, so just turn up and have fun!

There isn't any extra charge, and trains will be running the orange timetable.

This event wont run in very poor weather, so please check the forecast before travelling.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
Although the railway isn't having any special events, we at RailAdvent are hoping to make a visit, and will be coming live from the railway.
So if you want to see the railway from the comfort of your own home, we will be starting around 9am and will be taking lots of photos throughout the day.
If you see us, don't forget to say “Hello”.
