 Burrs Country Park on the East Lancs RailwayA New Station Announced at the . The East Lancs Railway is set to build a new station on its 12 mile line from Heywood to Rawtenstall.

The new station will be named ‘Burrs Country Park'. This will be positioned for caravanners wanting to use the railway whilst staying at the popular Caravan Club Site, which is just outside Bury.

Talk of building a new station at the caravan site had previously started in 2004. Finally 12 years later, the railway is ready to start work on the new station in early June. This is expected to take around 8 weeks to complete.

The building of the new station will allow visitors to Burrs Country Park to travel to Bury, Ramsbottom or Rawtenstall by train.
