As another Bank Holiday approaches, it can be difficult to find something to do that pleases all the family. This post may help you to decide what you will do over the coming Bank Holiday!

– 29th April – 2nd May 2016

Linda at Blaenau FfestiniogThe Ffestiniog Railway are holding a special event called ‘May Day Weekend' – this event is taking place from the 29th April to 2nd May. This is a special weekend, featuring 12 locomotives! It is also a chance to see a brand new train.
A special timetable is also in operation – basic timetables can be found by clicking here – for the full timetable with train graphs and details of what is happening on the day – purchase an event guide from Harbour Station.
Special fares are also in operation for the weekend –
FOUR-DAY ROVER:  (29th April – 2nd May 2016)
Adult £65.00
Child £32.00
*Privilege Rate: Adult £32.00
                           Child £16.00
 
DAY ROVER:  Any Day:
Adult £22.80
Child £11.40
* Privilege Rate: Adult £11.00
                            Child £  5.50
DARJEELING THRU' THE PASS (Sunday 1st May):
NB: No Free Travel – Event or Day Rover ticket also required
Supplementary Fare £  5.00

For only £3.00 – you will receive detailed working timetables with  loco rosters, stock formations and   full information on the weekend's events.
 
*Members free unlimited travel isn't permitted over the weekend, Members need to buy a ‘Priviledge Rate' fare ticket.
 
Keighley & Worth Valley Railway – 30th April 2016
Do you like steam & a Chippy tea? Well the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway has the something for you! The railway is holding a ‘Haworth Haddock' Chippy Train. This train will leave Oxenhope at 7.30pm, arriving back around 11pm.

Entertainment is also featured with ‘The Cover Up' band playing at Keighley.

Fares for the ‘Haworth Haddock' are as follows:

  • Adults – £23.50
  • Concessions – £19.50
  • Children – £11.75

Continuing with their 150th Birthday Celebrations, the Talyllyn Railway is holding their ‘Road to Adventure' Gala. This gala is celebrating the extension from Abergynolwyn to Nant Gwernol back in the 1970s.
With many activities happening other the three days, there's plenty to do. Highlights include shuttles, 10+ departures a day and re-enactments of blasts!

Normal fares apply for this event, but there are certain activities that require a pre booked ticket or for you to be a member of the railway!
East Lancs Railway – 30th April – 2nd May 2016

Meet Thomas and his friends at the East Lancs Railway this weekend (30th April – 2nd May 2016) with plenty of activities for children of all sizes. Ride behind Thomas, and meet the Fat Controller, along with some of Thomas' friends! Ticket holders also get Unlimited Travel on Steam and Diesel Trains. Here are some of the highlights of the weekend:

  • Magic / Circus shows and Punch & Judy
