Today sees the start of a nice long weekend (11-13th March 2016) at the East Lancs Railway’s annual Spring Steam Gala, this is a weekend full of steam and unusual trains.

The railway is running a special timetable for this weekend, along with special fares. More information on timetables and fares can be found by clicking here
It was thought that LMS Stanier Coronation Class 4-6-2 No. 46233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ would be head lining the event, but problems with Network Rail and on the Mainline, it is unavailable, but with 5 engines ready for an action packed weekend, this is an event not to be missed!
