Its always nice to hear good news. Earlier this month the Bala Lake Railway in North Wales received two awards.
At the annual Heritage Railway Association Awards they received the Steam Railway award in recognition of cooperation between them and other members of the Great Little Trains of Wales, Corris, Talyllyn, Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland, Vale of Rheidol and Welshpool Railways.
In addition they were also runner-up in the HRA Special Award for a Meritorious Project. This was for all the work involved with the locomotive Winifred, repatriation to Wales and restoration completed in 2015 back to working order.
The Bala Lake Railway Trust is currently in the process of raising funds to obtain track needed, for the extension of the line into Bala Town Centre.
