Flying Scotsman at Clitheroe

A last minute change to the schedule saw No. 60103 ‘Flying Scotsman' return to the mainline on the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express, ran by West Coast Railways,  on Saturday 6th February.

The service departed London Euston early Saturday morning and Flying Scotsman was attached at Carnforth, before the run to Carlisle , the return journey was via Settle & Carlisle, Clitheroe, Blackburn and Farrington Junction, where Flying Scotsman was detached and the rest of the journey was diesel hauled.

After coming down the Settle & Carlisle Line, I managed to catch a glimpse of Flying Scotsman as it steamed through Clitheroe.

Running 50 minutes late as it went through Appleby, it was only 30 minutes late once it got to Clitheroe.
