This weekend and next weekend, (9/10 & 16/17 January 2016), The Flying Scotsman will be hauling her first train since the £4.2 Million restoration.

The locomotive, that was originally built in 1923, will be pulling 5 round trips a day, between Rawtenstall and Heywood

The timetable can be found by clicking here

For me, it is the first time in my life that I will have seen the locomotive in steam, I have only previously seen it in bits at the National Railway Museum, York.

N.B. Tickets to ride behind Flying Scotsman this weekend, have apparently now sold out completely
