Full Description
Between the 19th and 22nd September 2024, the Severn Valley Railway held their popular Autumn Steam Gala.
For 2024, the SVR welcomed 3 visitors, all with an LMS theme, these were LMS Jubilee No. 45596 ‘Bahamas’ (thanks to the Bahamas Locomotive Society), LMS Black 5 No. 44932 (appearing courtesy of West Coast Railways Co.) and 11456 (from the East Lancashire Railway), which was having its first public appearance in its LMS livery. Also visiting was 2999 Lady of Legend, from the Didcot Railway Centre, which was visiting the SVR for a couple of months.
The gala had an intensive timetable, and this DVD aims to showcase the features of the weekend, including freight trains, express trains and onboard footage, including an evening express train with LMS Stanier Mogul No. 13268!
The visiting locos joined the home fleet of 13268, 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’, 7714, 75069 and a Class 108 DMU, which was providing a welcomed shuttle service.
Also featuring is footage from The Engine House at Highley, including Douglas that was on loan from the Talyllyn Railway.
