#feature I have recently upgraded my filming camera from an aging iPhone 11 to N iPhone 15 pro max. As a result of this change I have now upgraded a lot of my associated equipment as well, which has meant getting a bigger case going from a 12” to an 18” wide flight case, the good news it that the bigger case still fits under the false floor in the boot of my car alongside 2 identical tripods.

Some may say that the iPhone is not a proper camera, but I get great results with it, the trick is to not just hold it free hand but to have it mounted on a suitable tripod (desk top or full sized) just as you would a video/ stills camera.

      • I got the rather old Apple SE? But it’s camera is 12 million pixel’s! But if it moves to follow the path of shot, Then the picture is blurred! The picture (Burst) takes a dozen shots in about 5 seconds! But it must be completely still! Some pictures or video on here is enviously perfect, My zoom attempt is that of a 7.8 magnitude earthquake!

        • @nostalgia 12 million pixels should give you good results in good light conditions.
The poor panning shots are down to the phone having a slow shutter speed, if you can go into camera settings you need to set a faster speed (sometimes called sports mode), there is a trade off of poor photos in low light conditions.
The earthquake results when zooming in or out is due to the phone being hand held, if you mounted it on a small or large tripod you will get better results, whilst the phone is mounted practice experiment with using the rotator zoom controller smoothly and slowly.
I tend to use the zoom controller a lot and still think that a sometimes pull the zoom in too fast.
