@johns I had the problem of having to shoot into the sun at Leyland, I had planned to shoot from the field at Farington but thought that I would have problems with the wind there.

@Mike_Ashworth It was an interesting day, especially as I also went out for the return trip. Barton was a challenge, but I think I timed Lancaster just right as it was only just sunset. The mufflers on my microphones just about killed 90% of the noise. I was looking for a sheltered spot where I could hide a sound recorder, but there was not anywhere. Anyway its all part of the fun.

@johns I have just been looking at the routing of the Manchester to Buxton excursion on Saturday and it seems to be taking a very roundabout journey starting from Preston looping around Manchester then back up the WCML, then turning right onto the east Lancashire line and then the Copypit line and back into Manchester looping around the eastern side for Buxton . At least it should be calmer weather over the weekend and I only have to go to the bottom of our road to catch it.

@Mike Ashworth sadly I am filming the choir and young brass players from my brass band in Ramsbottom. Annoyingly, it will pass close to the Octagon theatre, as I am sitting down to watch Macbeth. Get the impression there is a shortage of locos for mainline?
