@nostalgia It may be trained but it was causing problems and I half expected it to bolt or collide with something or someone.

@Mike_Ashworth My pun was as a Train line to be avoided is to a race horse in training! I would see families and dog trailing behind amble over crossings with pram and all, when a train comes by doing 70 MPH? I would shout a warning sometimes! It was scary? They have now closed off that public crossing!

You always have to turn your car engine or whatever vehicle engine down otherwise it will get scared

@TaylPSteam Horses can be awkward animals as they are intelligent animals and can think about there surroundings and act accordingly. This means that if they come across a situation that they have never dealt with they will fail to act as needed. When I was at school in the late 70’s and early 80’s there was a horse drawn milk float that knew the milk round so well that the milk man didn’t drive the milk float but rather left the horse to control the milk float and you could see the horse and float going down the street stopping to allow the milk man to deliver the milk and not have to bother driving the milk float.
