Mike Ashworth posted an update
I may not be on here with my normal frequency from Thursday the 15th of January as my wife is due to go into hospital for shoulder joint replacement surgery then.
I don’t know how much time I will be allowed to follow my hobby.
She is due to be off work for three months, and depending on how she feels we hope to get out and about whilst she is recovering and I have penciled in visiting the Peak District and the heavy freight workings.

Hi Mike – my wife was offered exactly the same op in 2025 but declined because of being 86 with other problems including asthma. Hope your wife goes well & you also.

@Pastypete my wife is only 59 and in reasonably good condition so she should be okay.

Send her my best regards Michael hope all goes well tell her not to worry as my English teacher had the same but with the legs last year summer. Hope she gets better soon. Tell her not to worry if she’s scared of needles and injections as I had blood tests last year Christmas as I was in hospital with a chest infection. So tell her not to worry or if she does just keep her calm
Best regards Philip 😘

@TaylPSteam Thanks Philip I will pass on your message. Last year she nearly died due to internal bleeding and the hospital at Blackburn didn’t know how she managed to walk into the hospital as she had 2 pints of blood left in her body. We did not have to wait and roughly it was ten minutes from walking in to being treated and blood being transfusion started.
