All ran well, but on the return journey, there was an incident when changing locos (steam off, diesel on) at Hanwell Bridge Loop.
71000and support coach unhooked and pulled forward to the end of the loop, to allow…

A view taken at the ELR at Bury on Wednesday this week of the Christman lunch dining train.
Took the images with my new Iphone 17 pro max phone. Very impressive camera and excellent wide angle view – compare the images taken frim the same spot.
The lunch and service wnere excellent on the train.

Pic’s look great Craig, but I am not a fan of the wide angle lens, it’s use on phones in mainly used for Vloging close up.

I agree with Mike that the images are excellent, especially for a small format sensor, but confess that I, too am not a fan of wide angle lenses for Railway work due to the distortion.

Glasgow Queen Street on Friday morning. 43133 leading the 10.07 Queen Street to Inverness service. I have also added a few shots of crane No.7 on the Clyde. We just don’t build things like that any longer, sadly. A fine piece of engineerring from a different era.

Image of the railway lines as they were in steam days. Taken from my BR 1947 rail atlas. It is a disgrace that St. Andrews is bot connected by rail.
-
It keeps the taxi drivers busy, as informed by my nephew who came over from the states to study there.

No doubt Mike – still seems a shame though.

Arrived at Leven today travelling on board 170415. Not much here. A very run down town centre to say the least. There is a beach however! Images show 170408 arriving at Leven Station. As you leave Leven there is the Fife Heritage Rail centre which has a few industrial shunters in it – one being ex RAF – and other odds and ends. A lot of work…
