HC1544 Sough Estates No.3 at work near Middleton Park Halt. Almost all of the line is on a gradient and this section is particularly steep.

The MandS coffee shop at The White Rose Centre affords an interesting view of the GNR line into Leeds. I must take a camera next time instead of my phone to get proper pictures!

Morning and evening at Hunslet South Jn.
I noted that I was the only person on Pepper Road bridge today. It’s closed to traffic, but there are still several photo spots available – some require a stool or steps to make life easier.

Middleton Railway 31 May 2026
A great deal of work was needed over the last week after the track expanded in the heatwave, causing a buckled section near South Leeds Stadium (Home of Hunslet RLFC). The midweek school holiday service had to be cancelled and the PW Team went into action.
Services resumed Saturday 30th and No.6 was on duty 31/5. The last photo is the location…

No.6 (HL3860) on duty for Spring Bank Holiday

For info, I’m still using a Nikon Z5 + Nikkor Z 24-200mm. I’ve not felt the need to upgrade to the Z5 II, despite it being an excellent update of an already more than competent camera.
