Northern DMU’s and Colas Bitumen Tanker Train Passing Copy Pit between Burnley and Todmorden 20/1/25
I spent a while at Copy Pit between Burnley and Todmorden, and observed the following trains on the 20th of January 2025.
The 2K64 service running from Blackburn to Headbolt Lane (Merseyside) was operated by Northern Class 156 Diesel Multiple Unit number 156416 and Northern Class 150 Diesel Multiple Unit number 150148.
The 1B17 service running from York to Blackpool North was operated by Northern Class 195 Diesel Multiple Unit number 195126.
The 6Z31 Bitumen Tanker Train running from Haverton Total Colas to Colas Ribble Rail (Preston) operated by Heritage Diesel Locomotive Colas Class 56 number 56049.
This service was not actually carrying any Bitumen and was working to Ribble Rail Preston to have the tanks washed out.

My word, That’s a fine spot you found there Michael. Imagine springtime or snowfall!

@nostalgia we did have a few snow furries and it was near freezing when filming, spring time in that part of the world is two to three months off. Lower down towards Todmorden they won’t see direct sunlight until spring time.
