The 2J29 passenger service running from Clitheroe to Rochdale was operated by Northern Class 156 and Class 150 Diesel Multiple Units numbers 156404 and 150107.

The 6K05 Ballast Engineers train running from Carlisle North Yard to Basford Hall Yard was double headed by Class 66 Diesel Locomotives number DRS 66434 and DB 66168.
