Double Header!
Today (28th March) we were treated to a double header of steam excursions up the West Coast mainline and returning via the Settle-Carlisle line. First up, 34067 Tangmere followed just a few minutes later by 60163 Tornado heading up to Carlisle. Returning on the S&C, Tangmere departed first, with Tornado about 90 minutes later. In very…

45407 Lancashire Fusilier - Long Ashes
The Lancashire Fusilier hauling steam special up the West Coast mainline today from Carnforth to Carlisle and returning via the Settle-Carlisle line later. Full excursion started from and returns to London Euston.

On 5th April we had two steam specials heading northbound through Cumbria heading to Carlisle within a matter of a few minutes of each other. First through was 60532 Blue Peter followed shortly after by 34067 Tangmere. Here is Blue Peter at Long Ashes, just north of Penrith. Unfortunately, my camera decided to freeze just as Tangmere approached!
