I’d heard a few months ago that the Great Britain XVIII was to be stopping at Chester as part of the 2026 edition of the railtour so had planned to capture the arrival on the 19th April as 34028 “Eddystone” was hauling the train to Chester, however the lack of sun wouldn’t allow for good photographs. So I settled to capture the departure before continuing my journey to work.

I arrived at the station this morning ready to see Eddystone, only to find that 34028 had been replaced by 34067 “Tangmere”, a welcome surprise for me!
