      My model railway build

So alongside photographing real steam trains, im also in the process on building my first ever model railway. I have had model trains ever since I was three but have never had the opportunity to make a proper layout for my collection until now.

It is a OO gauge model on an 8×4 board of a modern day UK heritage railway that has been freelanced to include two double track ovals and an engine shed

Its been a while in the making but I thought id show off some of my favourite photos of it and ask for any suggestions on what I can add to it to make it more realistic. All suggestions are welcome and are appreciated

I had a model railway a number years ago that sat on a foot wide base board that was arranged on three walls giving 56 feet of running track . The great thing about it was that the room could still be used as a spare bedroom.

        • @Mike_Ashworth The motive power depot idea sounds fab Mike, I do have quite a few engines in the collection which would need to go in a MPD, is there any products you could recommend me getting to achieve this as I’m not quite familiar with the components of a heritage railway MPD

            • @Mike_Ashworth perfect, thanks for the advice Mike
