Interesting development with Steam Dreams Day Trips next year – No Standard Class at all – Oh you can get Premium Standard on a couple of their Tours. Equates to ~ £35 for cup of tea and coffee and perhaps a softer seat per day above standard.

I did enquire with Steam Dreams as to why there were no longer offering Standard Class and to be fair, I had an immediate response which was this:

“Thank you for your email.

Building on the success of our Pullman and First-Class services, LSG have made a group wide decision to focus exclusively on providing a luxurious Pullman Dining experience and opulent First-Class service on all our day trips for 2025.

However, we will still be offering 3 classes of travel for our two exciting holidays in 2025: The Lakes from the 9th – 12th September and Edinburgh from the 27th – 30th November. For these trips, we will offer Pullman Dining, First Class, and Premium Standard”

So, the enthusiast is no longer welcome on Steam Dreams
