David Spencer posted an update
08.12.24 The Middleton Railway operated Hawthorne Leslie 3860 – Swanscombe No.6 for much of the day, then rolled out Manning Wardle “Sir Berkeley” for the 3.30, the last Santa train of the day. I’m not sure about the open cab in view of the remains of Storm Darragh; it started raining very cold rain as Sir Berkeley was half way up to Middleton Park Halt. Santa was much busier today than when I saw him yesterday afternoon.

Some cracking images David, looks very cold though

@RailAdvent it could have been a lot worse…. luckily we only got a brief shower as we came back down the hill on MW1210, it would have been worse if the rain was like we had at lunchtime, but I still had a roof then.

@Fraggle Glad it was better than it could have been Matt

@RailAdvent Thanks Michael. I love cold damp conditions for steam photos. However, the wind blew the exhaust back over No.6, so I missed a few shots.

@DavidFS Yes at least with cold weather, you actually get some steam coming from the chimney
