Thank heavens ‘Ofwat’ is to be disbanded! Little was done to prevent unwanted sewage sludge and storm water from entering our rivers that were created millions of years ago for excessive rainfall and ground water! Huge salaries and bonus, But still the river is the cheapest form of conduit to sea for our effluent! Picture an outgoing tide? All effluent release must stop within 3 hours of tides turn! Or lingering effluent is pushed back with the incoming rush of Atlantic waters into our estuaries and back up the river again? Before sedimentation, and filtration days i would leave the railway to do water mains, With my trusty Whitlock, And pipes of caste, Ductile, Plastic and the many joints from Lead pour to rubber? Such a pipe could take said sewage sludge to sea and out to deep waters! Isolated entirely from the fishes motorway! To leave only its Obnoxious gas to linger at the treatment works! An updated excavator, 4 or 6 blokes, And pipe to sea would not break the bank! Depth immaterial, Coastal estuaries mostly unfit for dwellings? So pipes comfy in the mud! And a ship lays the ‘mile or so’ out to sea part? Maybe train a few Dolphins! Do it myself but 20 years too late! Doh!! My first picture shows effluent erupting into a column from the rivers bed for hours on end! A year of clean water might purge it from the mud banks? To what it once was? One day people will worry of the very Sea’s themselves? Or maybe pollute Mars!!
