Just seen a note on the York webcam saying no steam today due to fire risk – presumably meaning 45212 will not be working the Yorkshireman back to Euston this afternoon – anyone able to confirm this. I’m just getting my gear together to pop down with grandkids to Beighton Jct about 4pm to video it, but I don’t want to waste my time!

Actually I think that note was referring to no steam on NYMR today. So fingers crossed for 45212.

I was speaking with the East Lancashire Railway on Friday and was told that all steam services on the weekend services would be pushed by a diesel with the steam engine doing nothing but putting out a little bit of steam.

14:45 – Looking at York station webcam, the stock for the return Yorkshireman (1Z66) has pulled in to Platform 11 and -yowza! – 45212 is at the pointy end with a 47 behind the tender. I’ll just wait to see if it departs on time, then I’m off to Beighton Jct as per my original Plan A!
