Flying Scotsman Bury 2026
It was a quiet first day as Flying Scotsman appeared at Bury. It got busier, as I left at Lunchtime. A party of Dutch shared the platform at Rawtenstall with me. #feature

There is a Railway - Honestly!
Last weekend was the annual Astley Green Steam Rally. On show were many Steam traction Engines, however the Lancashire Mining Museum’s narrow gauge railway was in action with Spanish Industrial Locomotive, Utrillas in full steam.

The Lancashire Mining Museum at Astley near Worsley in Manchester held a steam Fair over the weekend. The undoubted star was the resident loco, “Utrillas”. This Spanish engine recently underwent a major overhaul, and was providing footplate rides for the huge number of visitors.
