Big job breaking out at the National Railway Museum at York. The traditional walking route to the entrance is now being sealed off with a huge fence. This is to allow a brand new Central Hall to be constructed that will link the Station Hall and Great Hall. I have attached images of what the new hall will look like. Consequently, you now have to walk past the Station Hall and go right round the perimeter to the museum entrance. This is around 1/2 a mile!
At present you cannot walk between the halls. You have to go outside and walk round.
See map attached.

Appreciate things need to change hopefully for the better, but from being a couple of mins away from the station, like you say depending on mobility it’s quite some walk. As far as I could work out the land train doesn’t call at York station.

I think the land train operates from near York Minster.
There are also a lot of road works going on at York Station as well at present.
