Clive, is that you firing that GWR 0-6-0 Pannier Tank just off Oakham Shed? Can anyone tell that I haven’t been out to see any trains today!
TaylPSteam, David Spencer and Michael Ashworth-
It’s definitely Clive keeping the smoke down.

@TaylPSteam Back in the early fifties i would use garden walls to guide me along pavements for the Smog! (A mix of Fog and the countless open fires back then)! Couldn’t see a thing! Heritage must keep the general public on side! And leaving the open fire in the warm living room to venture going up to bed was like a visit to the Arctic circle at times! You don’t see Smog now? Not for many a year! (You could walk over roads back then, Because so few cars about)!

I’m all for keeping Clag and Smoke down for a sweeter atmosphere, But then another Icelandic volcano blasts away for a few weeks to make one wonder what’s the point of it all?

Sorry for messages? But wet steam good for tender spray too! (Keeping the dust down)? Those Bulleids or engines that had it? Them that didn’t you had the same line Pep pipe off injector feed, I loved blasting boiler cab face down, Soon dry, Then a dab of oil on your cloth for a real nice shine! Mind you, Some drivers moaned it smelt a bit.
