Hi Jon, Keeping well i hope? I’ve set my mind on visiting that Somerset heritage railway sometime? They have 2 of my old Hymeks and a Riddles steam engine 80064 (i done many a mile on), up there! Not been on a train for many a year! Spose i get ticket to Taunton at St David’s station? Is there a cheaper way? You get about a bit!

        • Hi Clive, still breathing and living the dream! Hope you are keeping well yourself!? If travelling from Exeter, train from St David’s to Taunton is best. Travel after 9.30 to reduce cost by buying an off peak return and use a rail card if you have one but I’m guessing you don’t! I think that it’s possible to get a bus outside the station that should take you to Bishops Lydeard station. Keep the cost down by using your OAP bus pass if you have one; if not apply for one. I did and I’m only 66. The WSR doesn’t always operate 7 days a week so make sure you visit when they are open. The Hymeks can generally be seen at Williton where the Diesel Locomotive Group is based. 80064 is also at Williton but probably locked away as it is being overhauled. Let me know when you’re thinking of going….
