Caught Britannia just before lunch 17.06.26 at Acton Bridge travelling. 5Z41 1032 Crewe H.S. to Carnforth North Jn. The wave from the footplate was much appreciated.

Why the drop in Loco' identification?
What improvements can be made regarding identification? What are the barriers to doing so? In searching Mainline Steam Movements, there appears to be a failure to identify the particular locomotives. Even on the day of travel, there’s a big decrease in identification, with the TBC comment still in place.

After a lot of speculation whether it would be possible to run, ( due to the recent derailment at Shap,) 71000 “Duke of Gloucester” made the trip from Euston to Carlisle. I was delighted to catch it at Acton Bridge. ‘though a break in the clouds meant an unavoidable level of lens flare from my vantage point.
