Tyneham, Dorset. In November 1943 the residents were given 28 days to leave as the land was being requisitioned by the army for training. They were never to return: it’s still within the bounds of MoD land, but open to visitors most weekends and occasionally at other times.

Lovely! And the church views are beautiful! I sometime wonder if we have the skill’s today of the past? What foreign skills arrive on Southern shores in rubber boat’s, Does anyone bother to investigate? Would I dare suggest returning such boats with them that turn down their 3rd job interview in the UK?

I often wonder what birds drink in a dry spell? I sit outside having a fag and a half can of beer! (I always wait to mid-day)! Born of meeting white expatriate’s in the bush of Africa! What a welcome if giving them a container of powder containing Chlorine for their swimming pool! A clock in their bar would show the pub opening times around…

Other Adventures 5 weeks agoI stand quietly outside having a fag! (I now realise how smoking dirties my living room decoration), When a huge Buzzard envelopes a nesting box of many young Sparrows, Trying to get his great feathered head in the opening! A beautiful but very mean looking machine took to wing on my shout! I will need to stay alert!
