Hi all, I’ve been searching everywhere to see what loco(s) will be on the EDB-NCL and the NCL-YRK leg of the GB on Friday and Saturday. I’m really struggling to find a solid answer and I was wondering if anyone would know. Thanks all and best regards

I believe it’ll be a black 5 from Newcastle to York then they switch it to Eddystone but am not sure about Edinburgh to newcastle but my guess is porabbly a black 5

They’ve not been very forthcoming with the loco allocations this time. I only found out this morning what was on today. Usually RailAdvent updates as soon as they know and I also look at the Railway Herald rail tours section on their website but this time round it all seems to be last-minute. What we do know is the locos are all likely to be those based at Carnforth at least for the northern legs -Eddystone, Tangmere, or one of the Black Fives. You can also look out for light engine movements prior to the main event – for example I learned at 5am this morning that Tangmere was heading to Chester.

    Not much help I’m afraid!!

    Hi Jonathan,

Sadly, this year, information is being withheld quite a bit. We are working to get confirmation as soon as we know anything.

44871 and 45407 were meant to be on todays jaunt and thus doing the Scotland legs and back south, however, only 45407 is heading North today due to an issue with 44871. We are checking constantly so if 44871 does head north we will update as soon as possible!

Hi all I heard yesterday that 44871 failed with yet another hotbox but I’m not sure if it has been fixed or not just to let you all know

    Bye for now Philip
