   I think it will be 47270 on the diesel part and tangmere on the steam part as it’s on the LE movement to Carlisle

   Yes on Railway Touring Company website it says :-
   “Leaving Newcastle, we head west along the scenic Tyne Valley line via Hexham to Carlisle, passing through some of the North East’s most attractive countryside.
   At Carlisle our steam locomotive will join the train to take over the journey to Edinburgh.”
   Whilst displaying a route map of it going up from Newcastle to Berwick to Edinburgh !!

   It’s going via Carlisle steam hauled from Carlisle to Edinburgh

   It’ll be diesel hauled and is going to Carlisle then will be steam hauled

      So it’s not going direct from Newcastle to Edinburgh but instead taking the Tyne Valley route due west to Carlisle before turning north over Beattock to Edinburgh?
