As part of its 80th anniversary, PECO are bringing out wagon packs in a range of gauges for model railways across the country.
Due for release in mid-October, each pack includes five wagons and features a mix of wagon types and liveries, some of which have appeared in PECO’s range before, linking back to the company’s early days.
The packs will be available in 00-9, TT:120 and N gauge, with each pack containing a special blue PECO 80th Anniversary Box Van and a green open wagon bearing the initials of PECO’s founding member S.C. Pritchard.

The 00-9 pack features a hopper wagon, two open wagons and two box vans and includes liveries from a wagon first produced by PECO in the 1960s, ‘Mendip Mountain Quarries’, a ‘Crosse & Blackwell’ livery based on a former kit-built wagon and a replica of Beer Heights Light Railway’s Wagon No.3.

The TT:120 pack contains two box vans, two open wagons and a mineral wagon. Liveries feature the ‘Mendip Mountain Quarries’ in addition to a Fyffes Banana Van and a Charringtons mineral wagon, the latter two based on wagons previously available in the ‘Quality Line’ N gauge range.

The N gauge pack consists of a petrol tanker, a pallet van, a box van, and two open wagons. The tanker is in BP livery and is based on one of the first models that PECO sold. The IZAL Pallet Van has been reproduced from PECO’s ‘Quality Line’ range, while the grey ‘Mendip Mountain Quarries’ open wagon also features in this pack.
Pre-orders can be made via the PECO website or at local model railway stores.
PECO have made several hundred celebration wagons with unique liveries over the years. Back in 2024, the company made a special golden wagon to mark Pecorama’s 50th model railway exhibition, while earlier this year the model railway company marked Aardman’s 50th anniversary with a set of Wallace and Gromit wagons.
