Yesterday, a fire caused damage to signalling equipment, causing major disruption to trains in London.

The fire occurred in the Clapham Junction area, meaning that trains between London Victoria and Clapham Junction have been delayed, revised or cancelled.

Passengers are advised to use an alternate London station to travel, with services to London Victoria to be heavily reduced until 14:00 today. There will be a half hourly service between East Croydon and London Victoria, but these will be extremely busy and passengers are advised to delay journeys where possible.

Both Gatwick Express and Southern services are affected, and the major disruption is expected to continue until 16:00.

Emergency repairs have been ongoing to reinstate travel between the two stations.

Ticket acceptance is in place and passengers should alo significantly more time for travel.
