The Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust has announced a railtour programme for Winter 2026, with a weekend in Scotland on the cards.

60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is proving a popular locomotive on the mainline, operating with Locomotive Services Group since returning after overhaul.

A weekend trip between the 26th and 29th November will see 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley take Steam Dreams passengers to the Edinburgh Christmas Markets.

Passengers will board at London Liverpool Street, with 60007 taking over the train at York. On the return, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will haul the train from Edinburgh as far as Carlisle.

On Saturday 28th November, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will haul a Lunchtime Tour with Steam Dreams, with passengers boarding at Edinburgh for a circular tour, taking in the Forth Estuary and the famous Forth Rail Bridge.

Then, just in time for Christmas, will be The Pennine Peaks Christmas Explorer, which will see 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley take in the Yorkshire Dales and Pennines.
