Hull Trains employees have successfully completed a fundraiser for P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery.
The team walked the entire route for the operator from Hull to London King’s Cross to raise nearly £6,000.
P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery is a Hull-based charity which supports those affected by Acquired Brain Injury.
The team completed the feat in memory of colleague Garry Varney, which pushed them to take on the challenge.
The team passed through numerous locations along the route during the challenge, including Selby, Doncaster, and Retford, before reaching London.
Paul Spence, who founded the charity, is set to appear on the operator’s Moving Minds podcast to discuss it.
Additionally, the fundraiser for the challenge remains open, and donations can be made here.
“I’m incredibly proud of every colleague who took part in this challenge. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen fantastic teamwork, determination and support from our team.
“This charity means a great deal to us, particularly because of the support it provided to our former colleague, Garry Varney, who actually trained me when I started out in the rail industry. Completing the route and raising money in his memory makes this achievement even more special.”
