As announced last Saturday, the Yorkshire Wolds Railway (YWR) will hold its ‘Teddie Rides Eddie’ day on Wednesday 19 August.

The event will include appearances by Goldilocks and a life-sized teddy bear.

Teddie Rides Eddie is one of a series of events that the YWR, which is located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, will be running every Wednesday during school holidays, each running from 10am until 4pm.

The Railway, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, will also be running trains and opening its visitor centre every Sunday and Bank Holiday until the end of October.

Once the school holidays are over, only the visitor centre will be open on Wednesdays until the end of October.

On most Saturdays, Railway members will be on site, and will be happy to show visitors what the Railway is doing, where it is safe to do so.

The Yorkshire Wolds Railway operates on a section of the Malton and Driffield Junction Railway that is three hundred metres long and is located near the village of Fimber.

The YWR is also inviting people to consider becoming a member or a volunteer, or to make a donation towards its operating costs.

We want the day to appeal to as many as possible during the summer break so when an adult buys a ticket on Wednesday 19 August, they will also get a free child ticket if they bring a teddy! This is a perfect summer holiday treat for the young, or young at heart. Trains are running from 10 – 4, with the last train at 3.30, and we are very much looking forward to seeing everyone’s Teddies on what is set to be a great day!”
