The Mid-Norfolk Railway is preparing for a scary time this Halloween when it invites little ghosts and ghouls to travel on its Halloween Trains on Saturday, 31st October.

A heritage BR Pacer unit, Class 142 No. 142061, will depart from Wymondham Abbey Halt at 10.00 am, 11.45 am, 1.30 pm, and 3.15 pm on a spooky round trip from Wymondham Abbey Halt to Hardingham Station.

At haunted Hardingham, the station will be spookily decorated, there will be Halloween-themed crafts, games, and light refreshments, and every child aged from 3 to 15 will receive a goody bag containing a skele-ton of creepy treats.

Tickets for the Mid-Norfolk Railway’s Halloween Trains cost £7.50 per person, and children under 3 travel for free if they sit on a parent’s lap.

An adult must accompany all children at all times, and unaccompanied children will not be allowed to travel on the trains.

Also, because of space limitations, prams, pushchairs, and buggies cannot be taken on the train, nor is there space to store them at Wymondham Abbey Station.

Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities at Haunted Hardingham, although toilet facilities are available at Wymondham Abbey Station.

The National Railway Museum at York will also be getting into the Halloween spirit when it opens a Ghost Trail during the October half-term from Saturday, 24th October to Sunday, 1st November.

The trail is being launched in association with York Ghost Merchants, which is a well-known shop on York’s famous Shambles Street.
