British Transport Police, London North Eastern Railway (LNER), and the charity Railway Children have partnered up.

They have launched a nationwide campaign to help keep vulnerable people safe across the rail network.

The campaign highlights ways to spot someone who is vulnerable and at risk.

More young people and children will be travelling over the summer holidays and travellers are being encouraged to look after fellow passengers and know the signs.

As part of the campaign, the Railway Children have been at numerous stations across the network, providing information to travellers, with LNER joining them at Retford, Newcastle and Edinburgh Waverley.

Passengers are encouraged to look for signs to help spot children who may be anxious, lost, travelling without support or under the control of another person.

This latest campaign follows the operator’s introduction of Ask for Angela across their network.

“With the number of children and young people using the rail network increasing over the summer months, identifying those who need help can be a challenge. By working together with Railway Children and other train operators, we can share advice on the signs to look out for and encourage customers and colleagues to remain vigilant and report any concerns.”
