This year’s main sponsor of Norwich Pride, now in its18th year, is Greater Anglia.

The event started in 2009 when a small group of friends put on an event attended by around 3,000 people. and has taken place every year since then, although because of the pandemic it was on a much smaller scale in 2020 and 2021.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 25th July, when around 20,000 people will celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning, intersex and asexual+ (LGBTQIA+) community, with Greater Anglia both sponsoring and taking part in the event.

Greater Anglia’s participation follows its commitment to support, advocate for, and be an ally to LGBTQIA+ colleagues, customers and communities. Colleagues from across GBR Anglia will take part, reflecting a shared commitment to creating a railway that is inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

Among those participating will be members of Greater Anglia’s Affinity LGBTQIA+ employee network, and they will be joined by colleagues from c2c and Network Rail Anglia as they march with banners, colourful T-shirts, and Pride-themed items from City Hall to Chapelfield Gardens.

Two years ago, Greater Anglia was the event’s entertainment sponsor and became its main sponsor last year. As the main sponsor, Greater Anglia representatives will lead the march from the front of the sponsors’ section.

Last August, the world’s first onboard Pride parade was held at The Greatest Gathering at Derby.
