Staff and volunteers at the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways have been working to complete a major project over the last few months.
The project involved replacing the signal post carrying Signal 2A and Signal 1 on Platform 2 at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
The original wooden post has now been replaced with a steel one, with overhauls and necessary modifications completed just in time for their ‘Extreme Steam Extravaganza’ Summer Gala.
Testing of the new signal was carried out on the 19th June, with the signalling tests completed by the last departing train that evening.
