Llangollen and Corwen Railway is launching The Glyndwr Steam Roast, giving visitors the opportunity to spend a Sunday combining heritage steam travel with a traditional Sunday roast.

The first departure will take place on Sunday 9 August. After that, the experience will run every Sunday until Sunday 8 November.

The Railway has created this offer in order to encourage visitors to spend time in Corwen, and to showcase two attractions in the Dee Valley: the Railway and the eighteenth-century Owain Glyndwr Hotel.

The trip will start with a heritage steam train departing from Llangollen station at 12.20pm. The journey will take passengers through the scenic Dee Valley and will arrive at Corwen station just after 1pm.

Visitors will then take a two-minute walk to the Owain Glyndwr Hotel, where they will be served a traditional Sunday roast. The return journey to Llangollen, also hauled by a steam locomotive, will leave Corwen at 4.20pm.

Tickets cost £40 per adult and £15 per child. Although the tickets includes return steam train travel and a reserved Sunday roast, visitors will have to pay separately for any drinks, starters, desserts or additional purchases at the Owain Glyndwr Hotel.

Just thirty places are available on each Glyndwr Steam Roast. Potential diners can view the menu and buy tickets here. They will be able to advise of any dietary requirements at checkout.

Recent events on the Railway have included a Classic Transport Weekend and participation in the local Eisteddfod festival.
