Sinead Fielding, a Glasgow Central Station tour guide, welcomed athletes during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
Sinead volunteered as a host for the Tanzania team and has now been selected to carry the United Republic of Tanzania flag at the closing ceremony.
On Sunday, they will be the team’s flag bearer, and the event comes to an end, highlighting the support provided by Sinead and other Network Rail employees.
ScotRail has supported the games by running additional services to allow more people to travel to and from events.
Passengers travelling are reminded to check before they travel and allow extra time when travelling to remaining events.
“To have the chance to take part in both the opening and closing ceremonies is such a privilege and something I’ll never forget. As a tour guide at Glasgow Central, I meet people from all over the world every week, but the Commonwealth Games has meant I’ve met people from even more countries and cultures. Glasgow has done a fantastic job of welcoming them and I’m really proud to have played my part.”
