Amtrak has launched a sale offering a 30% discount on travel on the Northeast Corridor during August and September.
Amtrak’s Big City Savings Sale is especially timely, with the US celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, and provides a 30% saving on rail travel throughout the Northeast.
Travelling on the new Acela trains, passengers can avoid the traffic and enjoy a comfortable journey with spacious seating, scenic views, and a convenient downtown-to-downtown service to cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington, D.C.

The sale comes with the proviso that tickets must be purchased by next Wednesday, 15th July for Travel between Saturday, 1st August, and Wednesday, 30th September 30.
An added benefit for travellers is, if they enrol in Amtrak Guest Rewards, which is free, their journeys immediately start earning them points toward Amtrak reward travel.
Points are earned for every dollar spent on Amtrak travel, and there are extra bonuses for Business Class travel and Acela First Class travel. A typical benefit available with Amtrak’s Reward Travel is that 400 points can earn a ticket between popular city pairs.
Reservations can be made at amtrak.com/big-city-savings or on the Amtrak app.
Amtrak is gradually introducing next-generation Acela trains on the Northeast Corridor and has introduced a new dining menu for First Class customers.

“Summer travel should be fun, affordable, and relaxing — and that’s exactly what the ‘Big City Savings Sale’ delivers. Nothing beats a Northeast summer, so whether you’re catching a show, a game, or just want to explore a new place, it’s the perfect time to take it all in, and enjoy great savings.”
