Services across Yorkshire are set to be disrupted over two weekends next month.
Engineers will be carrying out track renewals, tunnel repairs and groundworks, which will affect services on the 18th – 19th and 25th – 26th July.
The work will be carried out in the Menston area, along with surrounding areas, and the Esholt Tunnel.
Rail replacement buses will be in place for some journeys while around 1.9 km of track and sleepers are replaced.
Repairs will be carried out to Esholt Tunnel, and vegetation management will be carried out across numerous areas to reduce landslip risk.
Both the 18th and 25th will have buses in place of trains between Ilkley and Shipley.
Full details of service alterations can be found online.
“Across the weekends of 18-19 and 25-26 July, we’re carrying out essential track renewal, tunnel repairs and earthwork improvements to keep the railway safe and reliable for passengers. We’re sorry to anyone whose journey is affected and grateful to passengers and residents for their patience while we complete these upgrades, which will help deliver smoother and more dependable journeys in the future.”
Karen Duffy, Network Rail operations director
