Stations across Surrey have been victims of a series of bike thefts for which the perpetrator has been jailed.

A total of nine bikes had been stolen by Reece Fujioka, aged 23, and following a British Transport police investigation, he was sentenced on the 28th May.

He appeared at Kingston Crown Court and pleaded guilty to all counts of theft and was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.

He stole bikes from Walton-on-Thames, Woking and Guildford, and committed trespass on the railway on one occasion.

Fujioka would case the area before breaking locks and removing a bike. Included in his theft was a bike worth around £2,500 and another worth around £1,800.

 “Fujioka answered no comment in interview, but we had pulled together a wealth of evidence, including valuable CCTV footage, that left him with no choice but to plead guilty in court.

“We know cycle theft has a real impact on passengers, and we’re committed to tackling this type of crime and putting thieves like Fujioka before the courts.
