The first fully refurbished Class 360 has been revealed by East Midlands Railway.
The £30 million investment in the refurbishment of their Connect fleet is set to transform journeys across the route.
The refurbished train will be the first Class 360 to return to service next month, marking a significant step in the operator’s £60 million regional refurbishment programme.
The upgraded trains feature a completely redesigned interior, with new 2+2 seating throughout.
Power and USB charging points have been upgraded along with luggage facilities and passenger information systems.
Additional refurbished trains from the fleet are set to return to service in the coming months.
“This investment will transform the experience for our customers, delivering trains that are more comfortable, more practical and better suited to modern travel.
“The refurbished fleet will provide a step-change for passengers using EMR Connect and Luton Airport Express services and I look forward to hearing what customers think of it when the first enters service next month.

At least EMR will keep hold of the Class 360s for a long time (30-40+ years) since all 21 Class 360/1s have been cascaded from Greater Anglia. And all 21 Class 360 trains have been refurbished and they do look lot better than they were before. Very nice to see them completely refurbished.
Wonder what this so called Managing Director of Transport UK badged as EMR doesn’t quite understand in that his organisation continues to fail to provide 1st class accommodation on these services.
This being the same transport UK that did exactly the same on services on Greater Anglia and on London Northwestern Trains
In the case of these 2nd hand 360 trains they have completely removed the 1st class option for passengers from both Corby & Wellingborough ..
