Next week, Lift upgrades will begin at London St Pancras to ensure their long-term reliability.

Two lifts will be out of service from 15th June until September.

The reliability work means that there will be no step-free access to or from Thameslink platforms at the station.

Those who rely on lifts will be able to access the station via other routes, including London Underground services from nearby stations.

The main alternative route is via Farringdon using the London Underground Circle, Hammersmith & City or Metropolitan lines to connect to or from King’s Cross St Pancras.  

Staff will be on hand to assist passengers and help plan journeys.

“We know how important these lifts are for many of our passengers, and we’re sorry for the disruption this work will cause, particularly for those who rely on step-free access every day. The reality is that the lifts have become increasingly unreliable, with unplanned outages making journeys difficult and unpredictable. This refurbishment is about putting that right. By carrying out this work now, we can deliver a much more reliable and consistent service in the long term, giving passengers greater confidence that the facilities they depend on will be there when they need them.”
