The Plym Valley Railway at Marsh Mills, Plymouth in Devon, has commissioned an N Gauge model of a wagon that was regularly used in Devonport Dockyard.

The order for the model has been with model railway manufacturer Peco, which is based in Beer, Devon. The wagon is a seven-plank wagon SNSO No.451, which was used for many years on the internal railway system at Devonport Dockyard.

Production will be limited to 100 models, and each wagon will be supplied boxed and with a signed and numbered certificate.

Wagons are already in stock, and cost £21 each, or at a discount of three for £60.00. They can be purchased online here or collected on Sundays from the Plym Valley Railway shop at Marsh Mills.

The Plym Valley Railway has quite a collection of full-size vehicles, with the latest acquisitions being a carriage that was once part of a Royal Mail Travelling Post Office set, and a ‘Shark’ ZUA wagon. Last year, a team of train enthusiasts at the railway restored a former Polish steam engine to running order in memory of an 11-year-old boy who died of a rare form of cancer.
